Privacy Policy

This website, sandrapiteiu.com ("Diary of a Judge"), is operated by Ruxandra Piteiu, located inCluj-Napoca, Romania. This policy explains what personal data I collect, why, and what your rights are. I keep it in plain language on purpose; you should be able to understand a document about your own data.
What I collect
When you subscribe. Your email address, and your name if you choose to give it. This is the data you type into the signup form.
When you are a member. Login events and basic account data, so that the subscription works and the magic-link sign-in can reach you.
When you receive my emails. Standard email engagement data: whether an email was delivered, opened, and which links were clicked. This is how every modern newsletter tool works, and I use it to understand what is worth writing more of.
When you visit the site. Aggregated, privacy-friendly analytics: page views, referral sources, country-level location. Visitors are counted anonymously. The site sets functional cookies only when you sign in as a member; casual reading requires none.
What I do with it
I use your data to deliver the newsletter and the free guide you requested, to operate your member account, and to understand, in aggregate, how the site and the emails perform. That is the whole list.
I never sell your data. I never share it with advertisers. I send you nothing beyond what you subscribed to.
Legal basis
Under the GDPR, I process your email address on the basis of your consent, which you give when you subscribe and can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Analytics and security data are processed on the basis of my legitimate interest in running a functioning, safe website.
Who processes data on my behalf
The site runs on Ghost(Pro), a managed publishing platform operated by the Ghost Foundation, which hosts the site and the member database. Emails are delivered through Mailgun, Ghost's email delivery provider. Both act as data processors under agreements that include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for any transfer outside the European Economic Area.
How long I keep your data
For as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails immediately. If you ask me to delete your data entirely, I remove your record from the member database.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the data I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Unsubscribing takes one click, at the bottom of any email. For anything else, write to me at ruxandrapt@gmail.com and I will respond within 30 days.
If you believe your rights have been breached, you can lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or with the authority in your own country.
Children
This site is intended for adults. I knowingly collect no data from children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, I will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell subscribers by email.
